Cheri Miller, Kathleen Smith, and Linda Martin attended GRC's first job fair at Heald College in Roseville in October to promote IAAP and attract potential new members. Heald Roseville has evolved into a leading career college that offers a range of programs in the Healthcare, Business, Legal and Technology fields. We were thrilled to have so many interested students approach our table to find out about IAAP. We enjoyed meeting these students and hope to see some of them at future meetings.

On Saturday, May 21st, GRC held its second annual "Professional Development Seminar" hosted at the Hawthorn Suites in Sacramento. Many thanks to TLC Catering for catering lunch and to Boston Market who provided dessert. Joanne Linden, co-author of Sitting on a File Cabinet, Naked, With a Gun: True Stories of Silicon Valley CEO Assistants, graciously signed copies of her book for eager attendees. It was a day of quality training and fun networking.

GRC and Claim Jumper Host a "Community Support Night" - December 2010

GRC and Roseville Claim Jumper Restaurant hosted a "Community Support Night" in December.  We had a wonderful time at the Restaurant that is located at 250 Harding Blvd., in Roseville.  Everyone should stop by and sample one or two things off of their vast menu - be sure to bring a large appetite.  Speaking of large...you have to see the buffalo head mounted on the wall!

GRC's 9th Anniversary - November 2010

The Greater Roseville Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals celebrated its ninth anniversary on November 18, 2010.

GRC and Boston Market Host "Dine & Donate" Event - July 2010

GRC held it's second "Dine and Donate" event on July 21st.   This time it was at the Roseville Boston Market.  We had a wonderful time and Ken  Peters, Manager, at the Foothills Blvd. location made us all feel welcome and loved with their ever famous Boston Market Chocolate Chip Fudge Brownies (need I say more) and his personal attention.

Many thanks to Ken and the friendly staff at Boston Market!

GRC Hosts First "Professional Development Seminar" - May 2010

On Saturday, May 22nd, GRC had its first ever "Professional Development Seminar."   It was a fantastic turn out with four great speakers touching on the topics of inspiration, being in charge, networking, software, productivity, and new technology.  Not to mention the delicious breakfast and lunch.

Kristi LeGue, Inspirational Speaker, inspired us with the power we have within ourselves, harnessing it, and using it to our advantage.   John Waller, Self-proclaimed Geek, provided tips and methods for networking, and shared new technology/software.   Marsha Young, SPHR, was a true driving inspiration; teaching us to achieve, influence, and manage our outcomes to become a leader.   Mike Toibin from Sanford showed us the latest and greatest in writing implements, new labeling machines, and using mail merges with the labeling machines.

Our own Theresa Souza was the winner of Sanford's Dymo 450 Labeler, and Cheri Miller, our newest GRC member, won the Wine/Snack Door Prize Basket.  Congrats to both ladies!

GRC and Johnny Garlic's Host "Dine & Donate" Event - April 2010

Thanks to Guy Fieri's Johnny Garlic's for allowing us to host a "Dine & Donate" event on April 27th at the Roseville Johnny   Garlic's located at 10505 Fairway Drive, Roseville, CA (Hwy 65 and Fairway Drive). GRC earned 25% of the evening's pre-tax profit, as long as guests gave our event flyer to their dining host/hostess. If you were unable to stay for dinner or drinks at the bar, you could order and take your food to go.

This was a creative way to help the chapter and to finish off "Administrative Professionals Month," as well as promote a local business.

2010 Mardi Gras Bunko Fundraiser - March 2010

WOW - A good time was had by all!

IAAP Tri-Chapter Open House Mixer - December 2009

We hope you had a chance to "Mix It Up" at our first Tri-Chapter IAAP Open House on Dec. 3rd at The Sheepherders Bar & Grill. IAAP members from the Greater Roseville, Sacramento, and Rancho Cordova chapters gathered with Administrative and HR professionals, as well as regional employers for hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting, networking, and raffle prizes.  Approximately 75 people attended. We hope to make it an annual event that grows in size and becomes more renowned.

We are a Chapter of Excellence!

Chapter of Excellence status within IAAP is not easy to attain, but the Greater Roseville Chapter did it! Not once or twice but three times! We earned acknowledgement for 2010-2011. Also, out of more than 600 chapters throughout IAAP, Greater Roseville was one of only 169 chapters to earn the distinction for the 2008-2009 IAAP year!
